Well yesterday was just bloody perfect. Everything a quintessentially English Wedding should be. That said, it was far from predictable and there were plenty of surprises along the way…have a look peeps, this one’s an absolute cracker.
The day begun at Jamie’s B.E.A.U.T.I.F.U.L home with the most amazing room to get preparations underway. The light flooded in through a huge window onto a backdrop I can only liken to the Great Hall at Blenheim Palace, the birthplace and home of a very British Mr Churchill! I believe it is painted using vegetable dye so we didn’t risk popping the dress on it just in case…..eeeeeekkkk.
I was utterly spoilt having Jamie to document as she really does pack a punch, this girl can smile. She oozes warmth and happiness, and I knew it would be a good day when I had a cup of tea thrust in my hand before I’d even picked a camera up. Her bespoke dress was designed and made locally and I truly feel It’ll be a while before I see a dress that classy again. I don’t have the words to adequately describe just how special it is.
We bundled a beaming Jamie into a very British motor indeed and headed to the church. In fact, we could see the steeple of the church from the window all morning. At the church I was met by a sea of hats. Brilliant. Why don’t people wear hats anymore? I LOVE hats.
Jamie and Jules drove back to the family farm and had a little quiet time before launching into the speeches and tucking into some truly stunning food. I’ve not seen food presented that well before. Too pretty to eat surely?
We had an overcast but dry day, but just when all hope was lost for some sun, the sky literally went on fire, ablaze with colour we literally ran across the fields and stole some shots with seconds to spare. Thank you Hannah, top Bridesmaid 🙂
All I’ll say next is that Jules had quote “the most expensive ten minutes of his life” treating the guests to a newsworthy acrobatic flying display complete with fireworks and lots of pretty smoke trails. If you don’t believe me just check out the news….mwwaaahhhhhh:)
Jules is also pretty darn slick on the drums…..hidden depths I feel. I do like it when people surprise me.
Congratulations Jamie & Jules, I hope you’re recovering from what was a truly beautiful day indeed. Thanks for having us along for the ride. Huge shoutout to the super talented northern monkey Joshua Patrick (www.joshuapatrickphotography.com) for shooting too, and being so darn funny all day long.
